Al-Hussainiya - Turn Key Project for the Ministry of Municipalities & Public Works - IRAQ.




Aswar Loubnan for Contracting s.a.l has been awarded a contract with the Ministry of Municipalities & Public Works – IRAQ for Supply & Installation of Raw Water Intake Structure , Pump Station and Transmission Pipeline from Tigris River to a Water Treatment Plant to be Located near Al-Shaoora Village in Al-Hussainiya , Baghdad Governorate – Package I.

 
Scope of Work
The project consists of the supply and installation of a steel and concrete raw water intake structure of a total capacity of 1,250 m3/hr from Tigris River to the north of Al-Muthanna Bridge near Al-Jazeera Tourist City, consisted reinforced concrete piles and 2 level steel structure provided with 2 submersible pumps (one operating and one standby) followed by a 500 mm diameter transmission line of a total length of 170 m that discharge the water into a reinforced concrete water reservoir of an average capacity of 500 m3.
Water reservoir consisted of 2 compartments and suction well, will lead the water into an adjacent pump station that will be provided with 3 pumps (two operating and one standby) each of a capacity of 625 m3/hr.
In addition to the main pump station building, the pump station compound will consist of a total area of approximate 3,200 m2, comprising a guard house, operator house and administration building. Power will be fed through a transformer and standby diesel generator.
Pump station compound will be provided with all utilities such as potable water, sewerage network and telecommunication network.
Raw water will be pumped out of the compound via a 600mm diameter transmission pipeline of approximate 25 km long to a Water Treatment Plant to be located near Al- Shaoora Village.
The proposed Raw Water Transmission Pipeline will be provided with some 90 reinforced concrete chambers to accomodate air valves, washouts and isolating valves. Average depth of the Pipeline (depth to crown) will be ranging from 1 to 2 meters.
